Silver Lake Writing Center

We have started a student-run Writing Center, which is open during the school day periods 1, 2, 4, and 6. What is a Writing Center, you ask? The Writing Center is a way for either individual students or whole classes to receive writing help. Each period we have a select group of junior and senior editors, all of whom have demonstrated considerable talent in writing. Some faculty members have already started using these editors with great success. Upon request they can come into your classroom and help students work on an essay, a research paper, or any other writing assignment you’d like. Or, if there is a need for only one or two students to receive writing support, you can send students to our editors in the library for one-on-one help during those designated periods.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please email Ashley Ferrara with your request at least one day in advance so we can appropriately prepare the editors.  If you need any clarification on the Writing Center or the process for using the Writing Center, please feel free to contact either Ashley Ferrara or Jamie Vitonis.
